ABOUT OUR NESTS

About Jacob

My wife, Gracie, and I have called Northwest Arkansas home since 2023, where we live with our three children: Max, Annemarie, and Jack. We’re passionate about using our God-given strengths, talents, and resources to be a catalyst in people’s lives to make a radical impact on the world around us.

After graduating from Ouachita Baptist University, I attended the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville School of Law, where I was selected by my classmates as Class Speaker at commencement and received the Bogle-Sharp Award, which is presented annually to the graduate voted by his or her peers as most likely to succeed in the practice of law.

I began my legal career at Wright, Lindsey & Jennings LLP in 2016 before joining a rapidly growing pediatric healthcare provider in 2018, where I served as General Counsel and Director of Human Resources. I was recognized in 2019 in Arkansas Business’ 20 in Their 20s, an annual list of young Arkansans who are business and political leaders in the state.

After playing an essential role in helping the company reach scale, I transitioned to a single-family office in Central Arkansas, becoming its Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. In 2023, I was honored by Arkansas Business in its annual 40 Under 40 list. Gracie and I eventually moved to Northwest Arkansas to launch several personal business ventures, including HootOwl Legal.

The Why

As a parent, I understand the importance of having a solid plan to protect our family’s future. Our first estate plan was rushed and drafted 48 hours before a trip we took after our first child was born, but I quickly realized that estate planning should be done with peace of mind, not fear. Revising our plan taught me that planning for and protecting our children is a gift, allowing us to take proactive steps to ensure their well-being no matter what lies ahead.

When you’re able to plan from a place of proactiveness as a gift to your loved ones, it completely changes your outlook on estate planning.

About Luke

My wife, Allie, and I have lived in Fayetteville since entering college in 2010. Our family has recently doubled in size by adding two wonderful boys: Bear and Brooks. We love it here and cherish this wonderful neck-of-the-woods we call home.

I grew up in Central Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas for my undergraduate degree. After graduating, I spent a year in the real world then returned to The Hill to attend the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville School of Law.  I was Note and Comment Editor for the Arkansas Law Review, in a number of organizations, and spent time volunteering my services for local nonprofits like Wills for Heroes - a free estate planning program for first responders in NWA.

After graduating in 2018, I joined a privately funded economic development firm in Bentonville. I spent six years there serving in a number of capacities including: Mergers & Acquisitions, Trademark & IP law, Real Estate, and general Business.

In addition to law, I enjoy learning about businesses and startups. I am a partner and owner in NWA Daily, Around Town Media, Deal-Scout.co, and most recently HootOwl Legal which I joined in September of 2024.

The Why

I was in my final semester of law school when my grandmother passed away with a mental debilitating illness she had been battling for years. My family turned to me for answers as to ‘what to expect next’.

Over the next 18 months I watched my parents and relatives emotionally cope with the loss while trying to navigate probate. When done correctly, having a well thought-out plan in place would have alleviated significant heartache.

"A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children." Proverbs 13:22. This notion of planning for future generations underscores the importance of intentionality in preserving family values and ensuring financial stability. Planning for the future aligns with principles that emphasize stewardship, responsibility, and care.
